Ebridge Mill had its open weekend 18th-19th June, to which we were kindly invited.

Saturday was cold and drizzly but it did not deter the hardy tractor drivers that attended wearing lots of layers. However, Sunday was warm and sunny.

People came to see the work they had done clearing the canal, others when driving past, pulled in attracted by the tractors and marquees.

There were canoes you could hire and navigate down the canal. Remote control model boats were also there for all to enjoy. There were burgers, ice-cream, teas and cake on sale also second hand books a tombola and many other attractions.

In another marquee they had pictures relating the story of the work done restoring the canal, they also had a display of old implements found, and old bottles thrown out by people that used the canal many years ago.

We sat by the tractors and enjoyed the warmth of the sun talking about them and the canal with friends old and new.

As this is an annual event we look forward to attending again in 2017.
